Love always wins
“In addition to the Young Artist Purchase Prize Award, Miss Newmyer’s art was also chosen as the ‘unofficial face’ of this year’s exhibit,” stated MIUIV Graphics Operator Melanie Turner. “We have put her art on the T-shirt that is distributed to every student.”
Additionally, Miss Newmyer’s painting has also been awarded a Juror’s Choice.
“Anne is one of our exceptional students here at Seneca Valley and we are very proud that her work will be the face of this years’ exhibit,” exclaimed Seneca Valley Special Education Director Jerry Miller. “As a 6-year-old, she is keenly aware that we all could use a little more love!”
The MIUIV Very Special Arts Program annually celebrates the abilities of students in grades K-12 with special needs through an art exhibit held at Grove City College since 1989. Very Special Arts is founded on the belief that the arts are a universal language that challenges people to look beyond themselves and celebrates their diversity.
