The JA BizTown® Mobile program is coming to Melrose Elementary School in Harrisburg School District! The innovative program, administered by Junior Achievement of South Central PA (JASCPA), creates greater access to hands-on learning opportunities for students.

JA BizTown Mobile transforms school spaces into an interactive mini-economy featuring 16 business storefronts. Through the simulation, students step into real-world roles as employees, business leaders and consumers while learning to manage finances, make business decisions and work collaboratively to operate their community.

The experience at Melrose Elementary School highlights JASCPA’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality educational programming in rural and underserved communities across its 14-county service area. By bringing the program directly to schools, JA BizTown Mobile eliminates transportation and accessibility barriers while providing meaningful experiences in financial literacy, career readiness, and entrepreneurship.

“JA BizTown Mobile gives students the opportunity to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences in a fun and engaging way,” said Allison Kierce, President of JASCPA. “We are excited to partner with Melrose Elementary School and Harrisburg School District to provide students with valuable skills that will help prepare them for future success.”

Students participating in JA BizTown Mobile apply classroom concepts in practical scenarios that strengthen critical thinking, teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills. Community volunteers also play an important role in supporting students throughout the simulation and helping bring the experience to life.
