Innovative tech in the classroom engages students

Susquenita High School is boosting student engagement by integrating technology into the classroom. Since 2015, the school has been an Apple Distinguished Campus, a title given to schools that effectively utilize tech-driven education. For example, all students at the high school are given iPads for note taking and completing assignments. In an article by CBS Channel 21, history teacher Terrance Shepler says some of his students are working on a project for the historical society, creating video content for the local museum – an initiative that is not only educational for the high schoolers but beneficial for the community, too. Students also have access to a variety of electives to expose them to different career possibilities.
