History-making day for PV Band
A historic day for the Pleasant Valley Band program! The Concert Band delivered a performance for the record books, earning a score of 95.5—the highest score ever achieved in school history—leading both the Concert Band and Jazz Band to 1st Place finishes with Superior Ratings. Thanks to these collective efforts, Pleasant Valley was honored as the Best Overall High School Band at the festival.
Student technical skill was also recognized through several prestigious individual and sectional awards, including Best French Horn Solo (Logan Krock), Best Flute Solo (Paulina Restea), Best Bari Sax Solo (Raina Clemens), Best Trumpet Solo (Dylan Carroll), Best French Horn Section (Logan Krock, Sophia Tinker, Kylie Hendrix), and Best Rhythm Section (Brian Correia, Robert Livingston, George Massi, Addison Krock, and Chris Sroke).
Because of this record-breaking score, Pleasant Valley is officially in the running for the Grand Sweepstakes Award, given to the highest-scoring band of the entire spring season, with hopes of bringing that title home for a second consecutive year.
