High school Destination Imagination team prepares for spring competition
Under the direction of teacher and adviser Drew Eddinger, she’s helping lead three Bellefonte Area High School students in a mission toward completing a Destination Imagination project for a competition April 2 at Central Mountain Middle School. The students — Cassidy Beauton, DB Burris and Mackenzie Frazier — are tasked with a scientific project that requires them to create and give a presentation about a character who encounters a mysterious object in a microworld using scientific accuracy. The presentation must be made in less than eight minutes. That’s then followed by an insta-challenge that puts the team on the spot with solving a problem they’re not privy to beforehand.
Destination Imagination is a project-based program that offers STEAM-based challenges to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
