Freight to Plate is learning in motion

The South Fayette Township School District’s new Freight to Plate trailer.
The South Fayette Township School District’s new Freight to Plate mobile classroom will provide new learning opportunities for career exploration, cultural exchange and collaborative learning, according to an
article in the
Observer-Reporter. Made possible through a Remake Learning Moonshot grant, the trailer features artwork by students in the graphic design course at the district’s high school. Video production and multimedia students will also contribute their skills by filming and streaming live cooking demonstrations, interviews and educational programming for the lab.
The Freight to Plate trailer will be available to travel and work in partnership with other districts. The goal is to provide a hands-on learning opportunity for South Fayette Twp. students while encouraging conversations about food systems, sustainability and cultural traditions throughout the Pittsburgh region.
