Fox Chapel named ‘Learning 2025 Demonstration System to Watch’

The Fox Chapel Area School District was named an AASA (The School Superintendents Association) Learning 2025 Demonstration System to Watch. The district is one of only 18 across the nation to receive this designation in 2022. Fox Chapel Area School District was recognized for providing a student-centered, equity-focused, and future-driven educational system that serves all learners with specific attention to cognitive growth.

Fox Chapel Area School District’s award was accepted by Superintendent Dr. Mary Catherine Reljac during the AASA Learning 2025 Summit in Washington, D.C., at the end of June. During the national conference, Dr. Reljac also co-presented a session on the district’s cognitive growth model.

“The Fox Chapel Area School District is pleased to be recognized nationally for its strong work on behalf of students,” says Dr. Reljac. “After being named an AASA Learning 2025 Demonstration System for the 2021-2022 school year, we have shared our work with colleagues across the nation in presentations and engaged in learning together. Concluding the year by being named as an AASA Learning 2025 Demonstration System to Watch is an honor. We look forward to working with our colleagues to continue this national collaborative effort and meet the challenges of the future.”

AASA Learning 2025: Student-Centered, Equity-Focused, Future-Driven Education is a movement that calls for holistic redesign of the public school system by 2025. The initiative is grounded in the foundational work of the AASA Learning 2025 National Commission which comprises thought leaders in education, business, community, and philanthropy, and is guided by the commission’s report, “An American Imperative: A New Vision of Public Schools.” AASA’s Learning 2025 initiative includes more than 120 school systems in 24 states and includes 1,000-plus educators.
