Mrs. Koscinski’s students dress like 100-year olds to celebrate the 100th day.

For kindergarten students in the Palmerton Area School District, the 100th day of school was a very special day.

Counting to 100 is quite an accomplishment for kindergarten students. For children at this age, it is challenging to conceptualize what 100 looks like and means. Students spend months building their skills in order to count to 100 independently, and the 100th day is a celebration of their hard work.

“Students spent the day working as a team of learners measuring, counting, comparing and building with 100 items. The highlight of the day was seeing students and teachers dressed like they were 100 years old,” said Mrs. Shanna Koscinski, kindergarten teacher at Towamensing Elementary School in the Palmerton Area School District.
