EJHS participates in Poetry Out Loud

Sophia Varner is this year’s Poetry Out Loud Champion at East Juniata High School, with Bethany Reichard earning the title of Runner-Up!
Poetry Out Loud is a national recitation contest that encourages students to learn about great poetry through memorization and performance. Contestants select poems from an approved anthology, analyze their meaning, and bring them to life through powerful and expressive recitations.
Both Sophia and Bethany were awarded a book of poetry for their outstanding performances, and Sophia also received a gift card as the school champion. She will now advance to represent our school at the regional competition. Congratulations to both students for their talent, confidence and dedication to the art of spoken word!
