West York student serves the country

Dylan Ackerman, a senior at West York Area High School, graduated from the U.S. Army’s Basic Combat Training (BCT) on August 27 and returned home to start his senior year at West York this fall. He is participating in a Split Ops program where soldiers are able to enlist early to complete BCT. Dylan worked with the district to assure he could realize his ambition.

After graduation in 2021, Dylan can either move on to Advanced Individual Training (AIT) or enroll in college under the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) program. The district is proud of this student and his service to our country!
