Deer Lakes freshman participates in Pirates’ Reverse Signing event

Deer Lakes freshman Colby Parks was recently one of 11 Miracle League players chosen to participate in the Pittsburgh Pirates’ inaugural Reverse Signing event.

As a participant in the event, Colby received his own TOPPS baseball card with a picture that was taken on Deer Lakes’ baseball field. Pirates Manager Don Kelly, nine players and owner Bob Nutting asked Colby for his autograph card and several players asked him to sign a baseball for them. Colby was also gifted a personalized jersey.

Colby has a great love of sports, especially for local professional teams and all Deer Lakes teams. He is often in attendance for games to watch his friends compete and is considered by many of his classmates to be their No. 1 fan.
