Deer Lakes educator earns Keystone Technology Innovator Program Award
Deer Lakes Middle School’s Library Media Specialist and ESL/ELL Teacher Christina Beaufort earned the Keystone Technology Innovator Program Award.
The Keystone Technology Innovator Program Award recognizes educators who “use technology innovatively to provide transformative classroom experiences.” Awardees also “enrich knowledge and skill base of teaching best practices and cultivate technological expertise, creativity and innovation.” Awardees participate in a week-long summit.
“The nomination to participate in the technology summit was not only a great honor and one of my personal achievements, but an opportunity to share my passion, to learn from other innovators, and collectively shape the future of education, ensuring every student has the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world,” Ms. Beaufort said.
Deer Lakes Middle School Principal Dr. Samantha Abate and Assistant Principal Dr. Nicholas LaMantia nominated Ms. Beaufort for the award.
“Ms. Beaufort’s full-time return to Deer Lakes Middle School has been a game changer!” Dr. Abate and Dr. LaMantia said. “She is a truly multifaceted person who does a great job in all the roles she serves in the building. We are very excited for this school year in the IC and so happy to have the Tech Helpers back at DLMS.”
