Commons Cafe hosts Chamber of Commerce event
The Indiana Area Senior High School (IHS) and, more specifically, the Life Skills students in Mrs. Lori Dadson’s class recently hosted an Indiana County Chamber of Commerce “Coffee Talk” event.
These regular events are designed for business and community leaders to visit and discuss the latest news and happenings from throughout the community, as well as Chamber of Commerce initiatives and upcoming events over a cup of coffee.
No one has ever been more excited to provide the java to spark such discussion than the students who work in and run the school’s IHS Commons Cafe, where the most recent meet and greet was held.
The Cafe was launched in December 2018 and was made possible with the support of Commonplace Coffee, which has locations in both Indiana and Pittsburgh.
Commonplace Coffee has provided students with meaningful experiences and opportunities, including customized vocational training to help them obtain a job after graduation. The Cafe experience also allows students to apply the skills they have learned in the classroom in a real life setting to further prepare them for figure careers.
