Chill Project helps students de-stress
Baldwin High School teamed up with Allegheny Health Network last year to create a Chill Room – a quiet space in the school where students can come to escape stress and relax. The room is decorated with couches and a fireplace with a mural of a forest painted on the back wall. It’s part of a larger grant-funded initiative called the Chill Project, that helps educate students and staff members about helpful ways to handle stress and stay mindful, according to an article on WPXI.
When schools closed in the spring due to the pandemic, the Chill Program moved online, with staff offering mindfulness education services through Zoom. The overall goal is to help reduce stress and anxiety, which can lead to physical and mental health problems, to help students and staff be successful.
