Students and staff present a large check with the amount fundraised by students at Chestnut Hill for the local Autism Society.

Students at Chestnut Hill Elementary fundraised a grand total of $2,631.14 for the Autism Society of NWPA. The school hosted a fundraiser collecting coins for Be the Change, a program through the Autism Society. The total amount raised by the students during the fundraiser was $1,315, which was matched by a local orthopedic office that joined after hearing about the effort at the school. With the addition of a last minute anonymous donation, the grand total was even more than the anticipated $2,595.57 that had been counted and written on the big checks for the presentation.

Representatives from the Autism Society of NWPA visited the school to thank students for their generosity and to accept the check in front of them. The class that fundraised the most, kindergarten, won a Glow Party, which was hosted after the assembly.
