Centennial donates uniforms to Ugandan students

Centennial School District had a unique opportunity to assist a student musical group — on the other side of the world. The acclaimed William Tennent Panthers Marching Band, under the direction of Charles DiCarne, recently acquired new uniforms. Around the same time, a former Centennial school director made the district aware of a project he was involved in with Building a Bridge to Uganda, a Pennsylvania-based nonprofit benefiting children in the East African country. Through the connection, the district learned that a Ugandan band of dedicated student musicians needed uniforms. Centennial’s Board of School Directors did not miss a beat in making the Panthers’ former uniforms available, having them professionally cleaned and restored for the East African musicians.
