Celebrating second grade computer coders

Second graders demonstrate their coding skills
Hanover Public School District was proud to spotlight the remarkable work of its second-grade students and teachers who have enthusiastically embraced the “Code to the Future” program. This innovative initiative has offered young learners the opportunity to develop essential coding skills, laying a strong foundation for future success in technology and problem-solving.
Special thanks were extended to Mandy Morgret, Kelcee Keller, Brady McClintock, Jessica Harner, Bryn Feeser, Tiffanie Garman, Sara Cobb and Brooks Keeney for their exceptional efforts in implementing this program. Their passion, dedication and guidance have inspired students to think critically, collaborate effectively and create with confidence.
The second graders have risen to the challenge, displaying impressive growth in their coding abilities. From designing animations to solving complex puzzles, their accomplishments reflect their hard work and curiosity. These young coders are not only acquiring new skills but also demonstrating how technology can be a powerful tool for innovation and creative expression.
The district also extended appreciation to the students for presenting their coding projects to the Hanover Public School District Board of Education on January 27, 2025. Their presentations were engaging, insightful and a proud moment for the entire school community, showcasing the promise and impact of the “Code to the Future” program.
Looking ahead, the district is excited to expand this program to include grades 3 and 4 in the upcoming school year, followed by grades 5 and 6 the following year. Sincere gratitude is extended to all who contributed to making this initiative a resounding success.
