Career Mini Expo at North Star

North Star School District held a career day for elementary students focused on vocations in emergency services fields. Mrs. Katie Svencer, guidance counselor, and Ms. Missy Corden, career education teacher, put together a fire prevention/mini career expo for the North Star Central Elementary students. The event was held on Thursday morning, October 8, 2020. Boswell Volunteer Fire Department and Boswell EMS brought a fire truck, tank truck and ambulance. The Pennsylvania State Police brought a police car. The Conemaugh MedSTAR helicopter landed on the playground. Each class had 30 minutes to stop at each station. Students had the opportunity to ask questions about different careers and learn about fire education and safety.
