Campaign for a Cure

Seneca Valley School District juniors Sarah Vescio and Kacy Christensen were nominated by The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) as 2023 Student Visionaries of the Year for their incredible leadership and passion to find a cure for blood cancer and to do so with involvement from the entire Seneca Valley community. Both young women are participating in a charitable seven-week campaign raising funds and awareness of the LLS mission to cure blood cancer and improve the lives of patients and their families.

Miss Vescio and Miss Christensen were motivated to participate in the campaign after their teammate, Virginia Fronk, a senior on the girls soccer team, was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in August 2022. The students were inspired by Miss Fronk’s journey to beat cancer and how her positivity impacted the whole community.

The students’ goal is to raise $30,000 by March 31, 2023.
