BAMS Destination Imagination teams shine at state competition

On April 2, the two Destination Imagination teams from Bellefonte Area Middle School placed among other teams of their peers from schools across the commonwealth. Team Tricky Tales placed first and Team Daring Escape placed second. They also must have completed an insta-challenge that required them to solve a problem on-the-spot.

While insta-challenge information is confidential, team faculty adviser Jackie Wynkoop said it required the students to apply STEAM skills they’ve been working on throughout the year, and didn’t know what the challenge was until they entered the room – with just eight minutes to complete it.

Destination Imagination is a project-based program that offers STEAM-based challenges to students in kindergarten through 12th grade. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts and math.
