Aevidum murals created to encourage school community

Aevidum is a nonprofit organization that empowers youth to break the silence surrounding depression, suicide, and other issues facing teens. The word Aevidum, which means “I’ve got your back,” was created by students after a classmate died by suicide. Aevidum has inspired schools and communities to adopt cultures of care and advocacy, encouraging all members to have their friends’ backs. Aevidum exists in schools and colleges across the country. Oley Valley is proud to be part of this positive and encouraging community. At Oley Valley Middle School, “We’ve got your back.”

The Oley Valley Middle School Aevidum Art Club meets during Club times as well as weekly after school. Currently, we are working on six positive-affirmation murals that will be displayed outside each of the restrooms in the middle school. The murals are part of a grant funded by the Oley Valley Education Foundation.
