Military Salute Night at Meyersdale

Raider Nation held a special Military Pride Night at a Friday night football game! The special program was presented prior to kickoff and the stands filled with Raider fans demonstrating their pride in our country!

As a small token of our appreciation for all those who have served, admission to military veterans and their spouses/partners was waived for the game.

Prior to the game, after the National Anthem and Alma Mater, the Red Raider Marching Band lined up on the field and played the Armed Forces salute. The band members and Varsity Cheer Squad formed two lines on the field and senior members of the Red Raider Varsity Football Team marched in bearing flags of the various branches of the Armed Forces, in addition to the U.S., POW and Pennsylvania flags. All veterans were invited to rise and be recognized during their respective tune.

“Military night was planned to honor those who have served and we hope to make the night special for everyone,” explained MAHS Student Council President Emma Hobbs.

“We are so excited to honor the veterans! We want to show our appreciation to our veterans and all that they have done for our country,” added Patti Shaulis, Student Council advisor.
