Upper Perkiomen High School student Maeve Hoffman was accepted as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders, held this summer at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. The honors-only program recognizes outstanding high school students who aspire to careers in medicine and medical research.

During the three-day conference, Hoffman heard from Nobel Prize winners, engaged in Q&A sessions and even observed a live surgery. Following the event, she was also invited to join the Society of Torch & Laurel, an academic honors program for high-achieving students.
