Seneca Valley students honored for computing achievements
Two Seneca Valley students, seniors Isabella Muthler and Heather Schwartz, were recently recognized by the National Center for Women and Information Technology (NCWIT) for the Aspirations in Computing High School Award.
Both Miss Muthler and Miss Schwartz were selected as 2025 Western Pennsylvania Affiliate Winners.
The Western PA affiliate of the NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing is a collaborative effort by dedicated volunteers from Saint Francis University; Penn State University, New Kensington; University of Pittsburgh; Carnegie Mellon University and All Clear Translations.
The NCWIT Aspirations in Computing High School Award recognizes students in grades 9 through 12 who show a strong interest and involvement in computing and technology, inspiring them to continue exploring their passions. Awardees are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing, proven leadership ability, academic performance and plans for post‑secondary education.
These students have completed numerous computer science courses at Seneca Valley, gaining vital 21st-century skills along the way. These skills will unlock endless possibilities for them, as technology plays a key role in every career path they may pursue.
