FFA public speaking

Several members of the Meyersdale FFA Chapter competed and placed in the recent 2025 Public Speaking Contests.

Members of the Meyersdale FFA Chapter competed in the 2025 County Public Speaking Contests, held in Berlin, on April 10. Competing members included Ryleigh Troutman, Bridgette Beal, Bailey Knotts, Carrie Jo Engle, Autumn Baker and Abigail Ickes. A total of seven area FFA Chapters competed in this annual event hosted at the Berlin Brethren Church.

Students competed in five areas: Senior Prepared Speaking, Junior Prepared Speaking, Conservation Speaking, Extemporaneous Speaking and Creed Speaking. Ryleigh Troutman placed first in the Junior Prepared Speech competition. Abigail Ickes placed second in the Junior Prepared Speech competition. Bailey Knotts placed sixth in the Extemporaneous Speech contest. Carrie Jo Engle placed fifth in the Senior Prepared Speech contest. Ryleigh and Abigail will advance to the Regional FFA Public Speaking Contests on April 15.
