Tuning in at PMEA

PMEA Band students

Nine SV Band students were recently selected to participate in the PMEA Region 1 Band Festival that was held March 6-8 at Ambridge High School. Region Band is a select group of students who have advanced through audition to the regional level of the state festival process. Region 1 comprises eight counties from three PMEA district-level bands. The guest conductor for the festival was Colonel Michael J. Colburn, retired director of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band. Based on audition results at this festival, Camden Armstrong and Mackenzie Tunstall will be advancing to the All-State Festival to be held April 12.

Students are led by Varden Armstrong, Robert Babick, Brian Croach and Sara Snyder, secondary instrumental instructors.
