SV Orchestra students break school record

SV Region Orchestra
Over the weekend of February 20-22, six Seneca Valley Orchestra students participated in the PMEA Western Region Orchestra festival, held at Richland High School. This festival brought together 165 students from western Pennsylvania, including over 50 school districts. Students performed a program inspired by cinema, including two original pieces by the guest conductor Mr. Chris Thomas. Based on audition results, four students – Elizabeth Browne, Heath Lyon, Isabella Muthler and Jake Pieszak – are advancing to the All-State Orchestra to be held in April.
“I am so overjoyed for our students who are advancing to All-State Orchestra,” said Ms. Sarah Miller, secondary orchestra director. “Four students is a new record for our program and these students have worked hard, not only to advance in PMEA but to establish a culture of excellence in the SV orchestra program. They are paving the way for musical distinction for years to come.”
Participants included Elizabeth Browne (Violin), Benny James (Bass), Heath Lyon (Viola), Isabella Muthler (Viola), Jake Pieszak (Violin) and Ava Platt (Viola).
