SV senior earns spot in elite ensemble

Miss Ayla Alexander
Seneca Valley choir senior Miss Ayla Alexander recently earned a position in the 2025 National Association for Music Education’s All-Eastern Treble Choir.
The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) All-Eastern Honors Music Festival convenes every two years and brings together the finest high school musicians from the region, including students from Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and Vermont.
To be eligible, students must have been part of their home state’s All-State festival in the year prior to the All-East festival. After a highly competitive selection process, Miss Alexander was chosen for this prestigious event to take place April 24-25, in Hartford, Connecticut.
The All-Eastern Music choir will be under the direction of Dr. Anton Armstrong of St. Olaf University and Ms. Jessica Napoles, of the University of North Texas.
“This is an incredible accomplishment, not just for Ayla, but for our entire school,” said Ms. Bobi-Jean Alexander, Seneca Valley choir director. “She is a natural musician who has worked hard in her music studies. Her dedication to reach this goal has been truly inspiring. We are very proud of her for achieving this remarkable recognition.”
Miss Alexander is Secretary of concert choir, president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society and a two-year captain of the color guard team. Additionally, she plays flute and bass and is a two-time All-State Chorus Qualifier.
