Sun & fun at PVE

In the months of June, July and August, Pleasant Valley Elementary School (PVE) welcomed families to attend Dewey Days. Dewey Days were a fun way for PVE families to receive books and activities for their children to work on to maintain skills over the summer months. There were interactive story times, math games and other activities based on the event theme.

In June, Dewey Day kicked off with the roar of engines! The June theme was transportation and families had a great time at the first “Touch a Truck” night. Students had the opportunity to get up close to several vehicles and ask questions about them.

The second event was Outdoor Safely where students learned about safety in the outdoors from a local Park Ranger. At the last Dewey Day of the summer, students enjoyed bikes, backpacks, games and snacks and had the opportunity to choose another book from the Dewey bus. Backpacks were provided for all students who attended.

Dewey Days was a great success due to our wonderful staff volunteers and partnerships with local businesses.
