Choirs perform at Festival of Music
The Dorseyville Middle School (DMS) Girls Chamber Chorus and the DMS FoxTones recently performed both separately and together as the DMS Combined Honor Choir at the Festival of Music adjudication at Cedar Point. The Girls Chamber Chorus and the Combined Honor Choir both earned the highest rating of “Superior,” and the FoxTones earned an “Excellent” rating. All three groups were given plaques for their performances.
Choirs, bands and orchestras from Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania participated in the Festival of Music at Cedar Point that was held May 10, 2024, in Sandusky, Ohio. The groups were judged by collegiate and professional-level directors.
The DMS Girls Chamber Chorus includes 40 girls in sixth through eighth grades. The FoxTones includes 16 boys in grades six through eight, and the Combined Honor Choir is made up of the Girls Chamber Chorus and the FoxTones. The DMS choirs are under the direction of teacher Amy Beresik.
