Read Across America Week is a success in Palmerton
lementary students at S.S. Palmer Elementary School and Parkside Education Center were treated to a variety of fun activities and surprises during Read Across America Week. Guest readers signed up to read in classrooms throughout both schools. Guests included parents, district administrators, school board members, community members and other local leaders.
Each school hosted spirit week activities as well. For example, one spirit day was themed “Reading is a Super Power,” which provided students (and teachers!) with the opportunity to dress like their favorite superhero. Other fun events held throughout the week included book bingo and a reading challenge.
“The teachers and I appreciate all the guest readers who donated their time to read to our students. The students loved hearing a wide variety of books throughout the week,” said Mr. Ralph Andrews, principal.
