Students perform at District Band Festival

MAHS musicians attend the 2024 District 6 Pennsylvania Band Festival

Meyersdale Area High School (MAHS) had an impressive number of students qualifying and attending the 2024 District 6 Band Festival at Greater Johnstown High School on January 11 and 12, 2024.

Six talented MAHS musicians auditioned and were selected to perform in this prestigious event: Hope Canfield, alto saxophone; Destinne Manuel, tuba; Kyle Petroski, bassoon; Amber Long, trumpet; and Ryan Sechler, euphonium. Students qualified for the festival through a live audition process held in November.

According to Katie Howard, Director of Bands, these students demonstrated a high level of dedication and skill with their respective instruments and were excellent representatives of the MAHS music program.

More than 140 students from 36 school districts participated in the two-day festival.
