Logan C., Nicole K., and Cheyenne W. competed in this year’s FBLA National Competition in Chicago.

Three of Palmerton Area School District’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) students competed in the national competition in Chicago earlier this month. Logan Connelly competed in the Graphic Design category. Nicole Kester and Cheyenne Whitaker competed in the Broadcast Journalism category. Students were accompanied to the competition in Chicago by high school teacher Mr. Brandyn Miller.

At the national competition, the district received two chapter certificates: Gold Seal Chapter of Merit Award and the Bronze Level Chapter Challenge Award. Congratulations to these students and the FBLA club advisors, Mrs. Jennifer Danzeisen and Mrs. Kerry Palumbo.

The national FBLA competition gives students the chance to test their skills against those of students from around the country. Categories range from Business Ethics and Parliamentary Procedure to Digital Video Production and Graphic Design. Skills practiced during and leading up to the competition help prepare students for future careers and postsecondary education. Additionally, all participants must sign an Honor Code upholding ethical and responsible leadership as well as overall citizenship.
