High school psych students learn about the brain in unique activity
Have you ever seen a hippo on campus? If so, it’s probably something to remember.
It’s also a fun question Bellefonte Area High School teacher Chris Morris asks students in psychology class when learning about the brain. Afterall, the hippocampus is part of the brain that’s responsible for memory.
Morris said she’s a history teacher teaching anatomy, so she does what she can to help her student learn the best way she would also retain the information that makes it fun and easier to remember.
To wrap up the second week of October, she led a review lesson that allowed students to use a swim cap to draw the different parts of the brain and then explain its functions. With that said, each group needed a student model to wear the swim cap.
Next, students will be learning about sleep disorders.
