Balloon-popping activity helps students with accounting lessons

The accounting class at Bellefonte Area High School isn’t nearly as boring as it sounds. That’s because longtime business teacher Andrew Weigold constantly finds “cool” ways to help students understand the lessons. On October 7, students participated in a class activity where they had to pop a balloon, which had an accounting transaction on it. They then had to solve it, write it on the whiteboard and discuss it as a class.
According to Weigold, the whole purpose of the activity was to review accounting transactions – in this case, paid cash for supplies – and also bring a little fun to the lesson.
