Summer tutoring remedies learning gaps
Reynolds School District | Posted on
Reynolds Junior/Senior High School offered a voluntary summer tutoring for students in grades 7-12 to address pandemic-related learning gaps. Tutoring was held at the school for two hours, three days a week. Transportation, breakfast and lunch were provided to all who participated.
Students worked on a variety of skills. Mrs. Coburn’s science session participated in the tallest tower challenge. Students reviewed balanced and unbalanced forces and the relationship in building structures. Also, they learned team-building skills to use in the classroom and future occupations. Those in Mrs. Ziegler’s math lesson learned how to count faces, edges and vertices of shapes known as polyhedrons using Euler’s law.
