Greenhouse benefits students and community

Moniteau School District’s Vocational Agriculture program is constructing a 40-by-50-foot greenhouse on the district’s campus. The greenhouse will provide numerous hands-on educational opportunities for students in the vocational agriculture program and will also benefit the community by providing fresh vegetables to the Concord Food Pantry, a local food bank. The Moniteau Greenhouse Project is supported by a PA Farm Bill Ag & Youth Grant of $12,276.69 and a $6,000 donation from the Lions of Pennsylvania Foundation and the Butler Lions Club.
The high school’s robust vocational agriculture program offers nine classes to students and an active Future Farmers of America chapter.
