The Palmerton Area Senior High School’s chapter of the National Honor Society volunteers their time at Charlie Brown Nursery School each year at Easter time. The senior members of NHS arrived at the nursery school on March 28 around 8:30 a.m. They played games, painted eggs, made arts and crafts, and had story time with the 3- and 4-year-olds that attend the nursery school. After story time concluded, the NHS students hid Easter eggs outside for the students to find. The eggs were filled with candy, and the children were ecstatic. After the egg hunt, the children and NHS members had a snack before returning to the high school at 11:30 am. Out of all activities, the children at the nursery school enjoyed the interactions and play time the most.

“The trip to the nursery school was important for our NHS students because it allowed them to be kids again and act as positive role models. It was really awesome and very rewarding to witness their interactions,” said Mrs. Jeana Baumgardt NHS advisor and HS teacher.
