Palmerton’s football team gets ready to volunteer.

On November 19, the Palmerton Area School District’s varsity football team donated their time to assist with an annual community tradition. Each December, instead of lighting just one Christmas tree in the local park, the Palmerton Lighting Committee displays over 100 trees. The Palmerton Area School District’s varsity football team helped unload all the trees from the delivery truck and get them ready for their lights and decorations.

“In addition to being accomplished on the playing field, this amazing team also regularly gives back to their community,” said head football coach Chris Walkowiak.

“Football is a team sport that requires everyone working together to accomplish a goal. Our coaches and players work hard both on and off the field,” said Paula Husar, high school principal.
